The Cycle of Life
It has been many months in progress but my gilded lucite leaf sculpture is finally completed.
The art of mimicking the damage, decay and worm eaten remains of a hazel leaf proved more challenging than I had originally anticipated.
The art of gilding played a significant part to create that effect with the use of pure silver that was tinted and marbled.
Lucite was not the easiest material in this instance to work with, however, I'm very glad I persisted and I absolutely love the final effect and detail of this art piece.
What has been your most challenging piece to date?
