The Making of an Art Studio
image updated September 2017
An artist's studio is a window into their soul and a necessity, not a luxury.
So, when after more than a year of struggling in damp, cold and cramped conditions or begging room space from friends, my studio was built and takes pride of place at the rear of our property.
I do share it with the men in the family (I say share but in reality, I grudgingly let them use it and regularly fantasize about installing an industrial padlock!) for their tools and workbench but at least I now have a dedicated space for me and for my tools and equipment, which are quite cumbersome.
It's a place where I can be free to experiment, fail, learn and grow as an artist. The place where ideas come to life and magic happens.
